With the reconstruction of the Ave. set for completion late July, workers are busy putting the finishing touches on the nearly year-long project.
All intersections, with the exception of Northeast 50th Street, have been reopened to traffic, according to the UW Transportation Office. Sidewalks are currently being installed on Northeast 43rd, 45th and 50th streets.
An "Ave-a-New" celebration will be held Saturday, Aug. 9 to mark the completion of the project. The event will include a ribbon cutting, procession, ceremony and block party.
