Washington crew opened the fall season by sweeping all four of its races last Saturday at the Portland Loop Regatta.

The Husky women took victories in both the Championship and Collegiate Eight races, the second straight year the UW women have won the events.

The varsity squad won in the Championship Eight with a time of 22:13.95 over Oregon State, which registered a 23:25.17.

In the Collegiate Eight, the women's junior varsity crew opened up a minute and 22 second difference over the field. In this race, the women posted a time of 22:17.90 over the Beavers' time of 23:29.63.

In the men's Championship Eight, the Washington varsity crew overcame last year's disappointing forfeit due to a cracked shell to beat Oregon State by 30 seconds, 19:59.42 to 20:29.67.

The men's junior varsity crew kept up the theme of frustrating OSU by stonewalling the efforts of two of its crews in the Collegiate Eight, clocking in at 20:03.54, winning the race by 1:36.

Washington's next competition will be the Head of Lake Regatta on Nov. 14 on Lake Union. The event is the final race in the fall season.
