Epstein resigns from Boston
Theo Epstein, the young general manager behind the Boston Red Sox World Series championship in 2004, has resigned from the team.
Sources blame the resignation of Epstein on the decaying relationship between the general manager and Boston's president Larry Lucchino. Nonetheless, yesterday's news came as a bit of a surprise for the team.
Epstein is leaving the Red Sox just a year after winning the World Series. Boston had given Epstein a large payroll to build a competitive team and the Yale graduate had not failed.
Hamlin progressing
Seattle safety Ken Hamlin is progressing satisfactorily after being assaulted outside a nightclub in Pioneer Square two weeks ago. Hamlin suffered head injuries from fighting two men outside the nightclub.
According to coach Mike Holmgren, Hamlin's headaches have subsided but a return date to the team was not given. It's possible that Hamlin might miss the remaining of the season.
The Seattle Police Department is still investigating the incident.
