The UW Volleyball team continues to shine.
Senior Sanja Tomasevic was named Pac-10 player of the year, and coach Jim McLaughlin was named coach of the year for the second year in a row.
Four other UW players nabbed Pac-10 tributes. Senior Candace Lee, sophomore Christal Morrison, sophomore Aleesha Deesing and junior Courtney Thompson were named to first team all-conference.
Senior Brie Hagerty was named an honorable mention.
The honors are a testament of the successful season the team has experienced. Washington won the Pac-10 title and heads to the first leg of the NCAA tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Tomasevic is fourth in the league in hitting percentage, kills and points. She holds the school records for career kills, aces and points. McLaughlin has completed turning around the Huskies from the bottom of the Pac-10 to a premier leader. Washington has won two Pac-10 titles in a row. The Huskies have only lost one match all season.
The team will face Siena on Dec. 2 in Colorado in the first round of the playoffs.
