Harvey Perry decides to leave UW basketball

Red-shirt Freshman Harvey Perry decided to walk away from the UW basketball team last Friday and pursue more playing time at a transfer school.
Just six games into the new season, it seems that one Husky is not content. It was announced Saturday that freshman Harvey Perry, averaging just 8.8 minutes per game so far this year, has decided to transfer.
At this point he has not made contact with any other schools, but at the end of the quarter is going to leave the UW.
"Obviously we wish him the best because there is definitely no ill will on our end toward Harvey," coach Lorenzo Romar said in a press release. "We wish it could have worked out, but sometimes these things happen."
It has been a tough year for Perry to this point. He has not been getting much playing time, and has not been an impact on a team trying to find its identity.
In his last game as a Husky, Perry played six minutes and amassed just one point and two rebounds.
A year ago, as a true freshman, he missed the entire regular season due to a back injury and received a medical redshirt from the NCAA. Romar had hopes that the Las Vegas native would be a positive influence on a young team.
In the beginning, though, Perry was passed over by many of the true freshmen and found himself on the end of the bench for most of the games.
Rather than bide his time and try and work his way into the rotation, Perry opted to transfer in search of a team that would be more in need of his diverse services.
