Facebook's online ad system, Beacon, reports back to Facebook the activities of Facebook users on third-party Web sites like Blockbuster.com and Fandango.com, even when users are logged off.

The number of Americans infected with AIDS is 50 percent higher than previous estimates. Center for Disease Control officials say the numbers are not yet final.
