The 17th-ranked women are also eyeing this Saturday's competition.

Following a record breaking performance at the Sundodger Invitational two weeks ago, junior Anita Campbell and the women's cross country team hope to compete against some tough teams at the Bill Dellinger Saturday.

Campbell broke the previous 6000-meter course record at the Sundodger and all Husky girls placed in the top three to take victory two weeks ago. Campbell said the team is prepared for Saturday's meet.

"The team feels good," Campbell said. "Our workouts are going good and we did some more intense stuff earlier in the season."

The team has three go-to girls in Campbell, sophomore Katie Follett and freshman Marie Lawrence, but Campbell is hoping a couple more girls step up and deliver this Saturday.

"We need a really solid top five. Right now we have a great top three and it's not clear yet who's going to step up," Campbell said. "It's going to be clear this Saturday."

Coach Metcalf says that he's confident about how the women's team will perform this weekend.

"The girls have a great shot at being in the top couple of teams this Saturday," Metcalf said. "Anita also has a great shot (at finishing first)."

The women's field in Eugene will be a real challenge for the Husky team, who are looking to build off last week's strong performance. The 6000-meter course will feature top teams like No. 4 Arkansas, No. 15 Georgia and Pac-10 rival, No. 24 Oregon. The Husky women are third in the West Regional Rankings behind Stanford and Arizona State and feel optimistic about the Bill Dellinger Invitational.

"The Sundodger was a good individual test for us," Campbell said. "We're definitely ahead of where we were last year at this time and we're definitely more prepared. This Saturday we're going to see where we really stand for the first time."
