RANTS

A glitch in a south Florida electrical grid forced a nuclear plant to shut down, briefly cutting off power to nearly 3 million people Tuesday.

More than 100 passengers and crew on a Holland America cruise ship were struck with the highly contagious norovirus this week following a trip to Mexico.

RAVES

The New York Philharmonic made a historic trip to North Korea this week, engaging in a kind of musical diplomacy to the traditionally closed country.

A South Carolina firefighter was shot at last Saturday by two men fighting over a gun at a waffle house. The bullet hit a DVD the firefighter was carrying in his pocket, and he was spared any serious injury.
